Answers to Unit 2 Questions

1. Do you think humans will need to move to another planet?  Why or why not?
I think it's a possibility, because the mankind is using more and more resources, destroying plants and even the Ozone layer. So, if the scientists find a Earth-like planet, with almost the same resources, this can be the new 'Earth'.

2. If it does happen that some humans move to another planet, would you volunteer to go?  Why or why not?
Yes. because it will be a great experience and a great step for mankind, to explore a new place and to have new opportunities.

3.  Read this article about people who have signed up to move to Mars: http://www.cnn.com/2013/08/09/tech/innovation/mars-one-applications/index.html  What is your reaction to this story?

I think it`s interesting and the people who sign up for this project are very brave. They put their own lives in risk to try something new, to have a new chance. Maybe, in many year from now, this people who want to go will be considered as people who colonized and tamed Mars and allowed great development to mankind; they maybe can be the 'Beautiful Souls' of the future.

4. What do you think Ray Bradbury wanted the readers of "All Summer in a Day" to understand?  What did you think after reading this story?

To realize about how hard will be to live in another planet ( in this case, Venus); because he weather for example will be totally different from what we are used to , like the seasons taking years to vary.He made a literacy narrative, mainly from the perspective of children enjoying a few moments of spring( maybe a euphemism for happiness) in a rainy ( maybe euphemism for sadness).
After reading this I think the author to speak , in a gentle way, that we have to preserve the Earth, because even being possible to live in another planets in the future, will be much more harder than the Earth.

  2. Hi Daniel,

I agree with you about the possibility for humans to go to another planet like Mars, but the question is what if there is something we don't expect, something that is weird like being attacked by Aliens, what would you do?

    1. It's something that can happen. Probably, before go, this expedition should bring some things to defend like weapons or defense systems.

    Hello Daniel,
It is good to consider them brave, but let me make sure that you have the same standards when it comes to you: if you were them, would you go?
